Communication with the house manager was via WhatsApp. We were about an hour’s drive from the house and let them know what time we would arrive. Upon arrival, the friendly lady was ready to greet us, and after a short tour of the lovely holiday home, we received a welcome gift. As soon as you arrive, you get that holiday feeling. The pool looked clean, although the hostess felt it could be better. She immediately arranged for this to be rectified. While not something we needed immediately, the high quality of service was much appreciated. The view from the cottage is magnificent. Day or night, you can spend hours on your sun lounger gazing at the surroundings or the starry sky. In addition to the pool, there’s also a nice pétanque court and a small patch of lawn—not much, but enough for the children (aged 3 and 6) to play a bit of football. From experience, I can say that walking in this area is a truly special experience. The climbs are quite challenging, but the views you get at the top are more than worth it. The village itself is beautiful. The narrow streets, cozy terraces (though not numerous), and equally inviting restaurants create a wonderful holiday atmosphere. Within the wider area, there are several villages and towns well worth a visit. I advise you to always stick to the main road. The “tourist route” is nice, but the locals know these things better than the tourists. This means you have to brake frequently to avoid accidents. It’s also clear that the left lane is directly opposite, allowing you to cut the corner a bit more sharply. If you are prone to motion sickness, it’s best to avoid these roads. Although, I must say, the locals are generally very friendly. It’s also worth going in the morning.
